Her Mission
Good food, made reachable, for the people most often forgotten.
Rachel's work has always started with the same conviction: that fresh, nourishing food should not be a luxury. She rebuilt a Head Start food program from pre-made trays into real kitchens cooking from scratch, trained the staff to keep it going, and helped families grow their own food through a community garden.
Now she is carrying that work forward: a blog and resource for the dietitians and practitioners doing this work everywhere, the Benibel app to make eating well doable for anyone, and a nonprofit to feed children and families on the margins of the Research Triangle and teach communities across the nation to do the same.
